The New Jersey Devils have re-signed starting goaltender Martin Brodeur for 2 years. Brodeur will receive $4.5 million a year. The Devils have also signed back-up goaltender Johan Hedberg for a 2 year deal worth $2.8 million.
Brodeur, a 40 year old veteran goaltender, decided to play the free market this year but in the end he got what he wanted from the team he loves. Brodeur wanted a 2 year contract and the Devils definitely made it worth it for him.
The New Jersey Devils still haven’t been able to reach an agreement with Zach Parise so he remains one of the biggest players still on the market. I’m sure he won’t be on the market much longer.
