After another devastating loss the St. Louis Blues are now only one game away from elimination. The Los Angeles Kings beat the Blues last night 4-2 to take a 3-0 lead in their best of 7 series.
The Blues were hoping the return of Alex Pietrangelo would boost their team to a victory but that wasn’t the case. The Kings have just been the all around better team in this series. Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick has had an exceptional post season as the Kings eliminated the 1st place Vancouver Canucks in the first round and they are now on the verge of eliminating the 2nd place St. Louis Blues. Really we shouldn’t be surprised that the Kings are winning in this series considering they won 3 out of the 4 regular season games against the Blues.
St. Louis was one of the favorites going in to the playoffs but it seems like they are going to fall short of reaching the Cup this year. The Kings are a team on a mission and they are doing whatever it takes to get the job done in this series. I thought this series would go to game 7 but it looks like it could all be over in game 4 if the Blues can’t find a way to beat Jonathan Quick and the Los Angeles Kings.
