Carter’s Hat-trick Gives Kings A 2-0 Series Lead

Well the acquisition of Jeff Carter turned out to be a great move for the Los Angeles Kings. Carter scored a hat-trick in game two against the Phoenix Coyotes. Goaltender Jonathan Quick made 24 saves as the Kings went on to beat the Coyotes 4-0.

The Los Angeles Kings have truly dominated the playoffs this year. They have now won 7 games on the road and they have only lost 1 game during so far during the post season.

The Phoenix Coyotes have had an incredible run in the playoffs but they seem to be struggling to find the back of the net. The Coyotes have eliminated the Blackhawks and Predators but now they are down 2-0 in a best of 7 series. Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith is frustrated with the lack of offense his team is providing him and they will need to get more shots on net in the next game if they want to avoid another loss. The Coyotes might be down a player in game three as forward Martin Hanzal will face a hearing with Brendan Shanahan because of a boarding penalty he took when he hit King’s forward Dustin Brown from behind in last night’s game.
