Predators Move Onto Round 2, Red Wings Eliminated

The Nashville Predators eliminated the Detroit Red Wings with a 2-1 victory last night. Alexander Radulov had a goal and an assist in last night’s win and goaltender Pekka Rinne made 21 saves.

The Predators have played remarkably well over the last few months and they seemed to fly in under the radar of their opponents. Surprisingly the 4th seeded Predators we not really favored to win against the Red Wings but they managed to win their second NHL playoff series in franchise history. Even though this series was hindered by the Shea Weber hit on Henrik Zetterberg, both teams managed to turn the series around and focus on hockey.

I’ve said numerous times that the Nashville Predators are a force to be reckoned with and now they have proven it by eliminated the history making Detroit Red Wings. The Predators could quite possibly be playing the Phoenix Coyotes in round two of the 2012 NHL playoffs. They will play the winner of the Coyotes and Blackhawks series and the Coyotes are up 3 games to 1. They will have a chance to eliminate the Blackhawks tonight but they will have to do it without Raffi Torres as he has been suspended for 25 games due to his controversial hit on Marian Hossa. The playoffs have been in no-way boring so for all you Predators fans out their we need to focus on the task at hand – ROUND TWO!
