The Washington Capitals have a new hero in their line-up and his name is Braden Holtby. Holtby has been the Capitals goaltender throughout these playoffs even though he only had 6 regular season starts with Washington. Some people think he was the main reason they even made the playoffs this year, squeaking in just days before the end of the regular season.
The 22 year old goaltender has demonstrated his patience and maturity so far in the playoffs. He made 44 saves last night in the Capitals 2-1 win over the Bruins. Their series is now tied 2-2. His current save percentage is .978 and he has a goals against average of 1.60. This young goaltender has been doing everything in his power to give the Capitals a fighting chance against the Boston Bruins. The playoffs are a lot to handle and the pressure can get to a person but it hasn’t got to Holtby. The Capitals know with Holtby in net they can accomplish anything so the Bruins better bring their “A” game on Saturday if they plan on beating him. His calmness has helped the Capitals keep their composure and now his skills are going to give the Capitals what they need to beat the Bruins.
