Giroux Dominates The First Round

The success of the Philadelphia Flyers has a lot to do with the consistent play of their hockey players. Claude Giroux is one of those players. Giroux leads the post season with 14 points 6 of which were goals. The Flyer’s have been without their captain Chris Pronger due to injuries for quite a while now but Giroux has stepped up in every way possible for his team.

Giroux was a dominating force in the Pittsburgh Penguins/Philadelphia Flyers series. Scoring an incredible 6 goals, fighting Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and throwing huge hits whenever possible. In game 6 Giroux landed a massive hit on Sidney Crosby just 5 seconds into the game. He then went on to score the first goal of the game just 27 seconds later. The Flyers eliminated the Penguins 4 games to 2.

He might not be the official captain of the Philadelphia Flyers but he is leading his team to victory after victory. With all the talk about Sidney Crosby being “the best hockey player in the world” I just wanted to give you a look at another hockey player that is just as good if not better.

Here’s a look at some of the highlights from the Flyer/Penguins series:
