Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price has been experiencing headaches so he will be examined by doctors tomorrow to see if the headaches are symptoms of something more serious. With only 3 games left in the regular season for the Montreal Canadiens Price may not be back in net until next season.
Peter Budaj will start in goal tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Canadiens have called up Robert Mayer from the Hamilton Bulldogs to be Budaj’s back-up.
Carey Price is too valuable to the Montreal Canadiens organization to risk having him back in the net this season. It’s better to be safe than sorry in this case. The Canadiens need Price healthy for next season. Everyone is talking about Price’s contract being up at the end of this season. July 1st he will become a restricted free agent but I am predicting that the Canadiens re-sign him before then. They would be crazy not too. Price carried the team as far as he could this season. You can only do some much when your teammates aren’t putting up points on the scoreboard.
When it comes to headaches everyone tip-toes around the word concussion. I hope that Carey Price‘s condition isn’t as severe as a concussion. As we all know with Sidney Crosby concussion’s can be unpredictable. If it turns out that Price has a concussion I hope they treat it right the first time so he can be back on the ice next season. Stayed tuned for all your Carey Price updates!
