Parise Helps Devils End Skid

The New Jersey Devils beat the Washington Capitals 5-0 last night. Zach Parise scored a hat-trick before having to leave the ice after being hit. Parise was able to return in the 3rd period but he didn’t have to play much since they Devils were still winning. Dainius Zubrus and Patrik Elias scored the other two goals for the Devils and goaltender Johan Hedberg made 23 stops to earn the shutout. This was Hedberg’s 3rd shutout of the season and the 20 of his NHL career.

The Devils were able to end their 4-game skid and they are now tied with the Philadelphia Flyers with 77 points. Sitting in 6th place New Jersey will get a chance to move into 5th with a win over the New York Islanders on Sunday afternoon.
