Backstrom Cleared For Contact

Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom has skated for 3 straight days and has now been cleared for contact out missing most of the season with a concussion. Backstrom was hit by Rene Bourque and he hasn’t be able to play hockey since.

With the impending return of Nicklas Backstrom that could be just what the Capitals need to make a good run during the playoffs. The Capitals are use to going into the playoffs in first place but this year they will be the 8th place team if they can hold onto a playoff spot. Backstrom has only played 38 games of hockey this season but he still managed 42 points this season. The Capitals have been missing a big part of their team for a long time so it is nice to see him back on the ice with his team.
