Thursday Night Trades

Some trades are quickly taking place in the NHL before the trade deadline gets here. Last night the Philadelphia Flyers acquired Nicklas Grossman from the Dallas Stars. Grossman is a defenseman known for blocking shots and will be able to help the Flyers on the penalty kill. He has 5 points in 52 games this season but he also has recorded 96 hits so far. Dallas got a 2nd-round draft pick for the 2012 NHL draft and a 3rd-round draft pick from the 2013 NHL draft.

Philadelphia wasn’t the only team making changes yesterday. The Tampa Bay Lightning traded Dominic Moore to the San Jose Sharks. Moore a forward that has 4 goals and 15 assists this season. The Lightning received 2nd-round and 7th-round draft pick for the 2012 NHL draft. The Lightning are also looking to offload defenseman Pavel Kubina but no deal has been made for him yet.

With the trade deadline fast approaching teams are in crunch mode trying to see who would be able to help their teams the most. Other names coming up in trade talks are Rick Nash, Hal Gill, Andrei Kostitsyn, Travis Moen and Jeff Carter. As of right now we can only speculate on where or when these dealings will take place.

Stay tuned for all your trade updates!
