The Ottawa Senators acquired Ben Bishop from the St. Louis Blues in return for the Blues getting a 2nd round 2013 NHL draft pick. Bishop plays for the Peoria Riverman in the AHL. He has played 38 games this season and has a 24-14-4 record. He has a .928 save percentage and a goals against average of 2.26.
The Senators decided to get another goalie due to their starting goaltender Craig Anderson being out indefinitely due to a hand laceration. Anderson was injured at home while preparing dinner and required medical attention.
